Congress Karwar MLA Satish Sail was arrested by the CBI on the night of October 24 after a Special Sessions Court for Elected Representatives in Bengaluru convicted him and five others. They were found guilty in six separate criminal cases involving illegal iron ore transportation, criminal conspiracy, and fraud, which resulted in ₹200 crore in losses to the state.
