Congress rejects India-France riot comparison

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said India is neither Bangladesh nor France, rejecting comparisons to European riots. He stressed the opposition supports only peaceful protests and demands free and fair elections amid controversy over the Election Commission's SIR exercise. Union Minister Rijiju had alleged a similar conspiracy was hatched in India.
