The Congress secured a decisive victory in the Telangana municipal elections, winning 1,537 of the 2,996 wards and gaining a majority in 83 of 116 municipalities, as well as five of the seven municipal corporations. BRS finished second with 781 wards, while the BJP claimed 336 wards, and other parties and independents shared the remaining 341 wards.
