Congress wins Allahabad seat 40 yrs after Big B won it for party
Congress won UP's Allahabad Lok Sabha seat 40 years after actor Amitabh Bachchan won it for the party in 1984. Congress candidate Ujjwal Raman Singh defeated BJP's Neeraj Tripathi by 58,795 votes to win the seat. BJP candidate Shyama Charan Gupta won the seat in 2014 while Rita Bahuguna Joshi won the Lok Sabha seat in 2019.
