Congress faced one of its worst performances in the Bihar Assembly elections as it won just six seats. Notably, Congress contested the Bihar elections in alliance with RJD under the Mahagathbandhan, and it was allotted 61 seats. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor expressed "serious disappointment" over the party's poor performance in the Bihar elections, saying, "It needs introspection."
