Consensual sex not rape if promise of marriage is broken: Orissa High Court

If a relationship goes sour and a person decides not to marry their partner, the consensual sexual intimacy that preceded shouldn't be considered rape, the Orissa High Court observed. The court termed the act as dissimilar to having sex under the false promise of marriage. The court was hearing a case, where a relationship had gone sour after seven years.
