Following the second assassination attempt on Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump, Ukrainian links have emerged to the alleged shooter. Russian spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Trump has shown that "playing with fire" had consequences. Notably, the suspected shooter had told the New York Times in 2023 that he had travelled to Ukraine in 2022 and spent several months there.
