The number of coronavirus cases in India has risen to 3,374, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Sunday. Meanwhile, the death toll due to coronavirus has surged to 77 in the country. Out of the total cases, 3,030 cases are active, while 267 patients have been cured, discharged or migrated.

Tens of thousands of protestors flooded streets across the US on Saturday to oppose the policies of President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk. A protestor said he was concerned about Trump's economic policies, while another protested job cuts by Musk-led DOGE. "What's happening in America is everyone's problem...[Trump's] going to push us into a global recession," one protestor said.

The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, which was passed by both Houses of the Parliament, received President Droupadi Murmu's assent, the government said on Saturday. She also gave her nod to The Mussalman Wakf (Repeat) Act, 2025. The Waqf Bill was debated for several hours in both Houses, with the BJP saying it aims to help poor Muslims and bring transparency.

Pakistan all-rounder Khushdil Shah was involved in an altercation with fans after Pakistan lost the third ODI against New Zealand in Mount Maunganui. Khushdil and fans were dragged away by the security. The PCB stated the altercation took place as the fans in the stands were chanting anti-Pakistan slogans. Two Afghan spectators were ejected from the stadium, the PCB stated.

During their IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals (DC), former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni hit his first boundary on the 19th ball he faced. This is the most number of balls faced by a batter to score their first boundary in an IPL 2025 match. Dhoni scored 30*(26) in the match, which DC won by 25 runs.

Logistics firm Delhivery's board has approved the acquisition of shares equivalent to at least 99.4% of the issued and paid up share capital, on a fully diluted basis, of rival Ecom Express for a purchase consideration not exceeding ₹1,407 crore. "Post completion of such acquisition, Ecom will become a subsidiary of Delhivery," logistics firm Delhivery said.

The US customs agents began collecting US President Donald Trump's unilateral 10% "baseline" tariff on all imports from many countries on Saturday. "The baseline duty of 10% will be effective from April 05, 2025, and the remaining country-specific additional ad-valorem duty will be effective from April 09, 2025," India, hit with a 26% reciprocal tariff, earlier said citing Trump's order.

JD(U) leader Anjum Ara revealed that the party decided to vote in favour of Waqf (Amendment) Bill after its five suggestions were accepted. The first was land is a state matter, second was law shouldn't be retrospective, third was unregistered Waqf property with religious institutions won't be tampered and fourth was officials above DM rank will resolve disputes, she said.
