'Kahaani' director Sujoy Ghosh, in a chat with Mashable India, shared that the movie was made on a "tight budget". He said they didn't have money to afford a vanity van for Vidya Balan and she'd change her clothes in her Innova covered with black cloth in the middle of the road. 'Kahaani' was reportedly made on ₹15 crore budget.
