A CBI court has rejected the central probe agency's closure report on the alleged fake encounter of gangster Anandpal Singh in 2017, directing that a murder case be filed against the involved officers. The police had earlier claimed that Anandpal was asked to surrender but began firing following which he was encountered, a claim his brother had challenged in 2023.
