A 37-year-old man was charged with murder and hate crime for allegedly using an oxygen tank to beat to death a fellow COVID-19 patient in a California hospital. Jesse Martinez became upset when the 82-year-old man sharing his hospital room started praying, according to police. He allegedly struck the elderly patient with oxygen tank, who died the next day.
