Crashed Boeing planes lacked 2 costly optional safety features: NYT

The two crashed Boeing airplanes that killed 346 people in five months lacked safety features that were only available as expensive add-ons, according to The New York Times. The two safety features reportedly were "angle of attack indicator" and "disagree light". The Lion Air crash last October reportedly happened as the software system continued to push the plane's nose down.
