CrowdStrike confirms faulty testing software caused Windows outage

CrowdStrike confirmed that faulty testing software allowed an update to go through to Microsoft devices, causing the massive outage that affected 8.5 million computers. The company said a Template Type passed validation despite containing problematic content data due to a bug in Content Validator. A template is a pattern that a compiler uses to generate a family of functions.
