Cryptocurrency exchange Liquid has announced the first close of its undisclosed Series C round gave it a 'unicorn' status with a valuation of over $1 billion. After IDG Capital and Bitmain joined as investors, Liquid CEO Mike Kayamori said, "We want to get traditional, mainstream [investors] on board". Liquid allows customers to trade cryptocurrencies for assets like money.
