The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the Department of Financial Services' proposal to appoint SBI MD Challa Sreenivasulu Setty as the bank's new Chairman. The tenure of Setty, who will succeed Dinesh Khara, will be for three years starting on or after August 28. The committee has also appointed Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh as one of SBI's MDs.
