Cuba brings biggest free-market reforms since the 1959 revolution

Cuban lawmakers have approved over 175 reforms that would privatise a vast swath of the country's socialist economy in a bid to survive punishing US sanctions. The measures, biggest economic shift since 1959 revolution, would allow private real estate development, enable state-owned firms to become shareholding companies, and permit private banks to enter nation's state-dominated financial sector.
