Cyclone Remal in the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm (with wind speeds of 85-95km/hour), the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday. It is expected to "intensify further", IMD said, adding that it is expected to make landfall between West Bengal and Bangladesh by Sunday night. Heavy rainfall warning has been issued for several states.
