Two Cyprus based shipping companies have collaborated to invest ₹10,000 crore in India's shipping industry. The move comes in the backdrop of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Cyprus, the first ever state visit to Cyprus by an Indian Prime Minister in over two decades. This is largest ever FDI in the Indian shipping sector since 2005.
