Dachigam National Park arranges food for Kashmiri stag after snowfall

Jammu and Kashmir Wildlife department has arranged food for the endangered Kashmiri stag, locally known as Hangul, in Dachigam National Park. Authorities said with increased snowfall, it was difficult for this 'critically endangered species' to find food. They placed fresh vegetables and salt licks for the stag, which is the only surviving Indian sub-species of the European Red Deer family.
