Actor Bobby Deol revealed that his father Dharmendra was offered Zanjeer and wanted to take up the role, but he rejected the film because his cousin sister had some issues with director Prakash Mehra. "She came to the house one day and said, 'I swear on me, if you do this film, you’ll only see my dead body'," Bobby recalled.
