Dalai Lama apologises for saying Gandhi wanted Jinnah as PM

The Dalai Lama on Friday apologised for his remarks, saying, "My statement has created controversy; if I said something wrong, I apologise". He had said during an interaction with students that Mahatma Gandhi wanted Muhammad Ali Jinnah as the Prime Minister but Jawaharlal Nehru refused as he "wanted to become PM". He also called Nehru "self-centered".
