short by Shristi Acharya / on Monday 14 April, 2025
University of Alabama professor Richard Lieu has published a paper stating the universe is built on steps of transient temporal singularities rather than the Big Bang alone. The research drops the idea of the need for dark matter or dark energy as explanations for the universe's acceleration and creation of galaxies. The singularities also generate "negative pressure" for universe's acceleration.
