Darwin Awards, named in honour of English naturalist Charles Darwin, honour those people who have died in 'exceptionally stupid ways'. The awards celebrate individuals who eliminate themselves in an extraordinarily idiotic manner, thereby improving the chance of long-term survival of humans. The winners include a man trying to fight a lion and a priest who flew using 1,000 helium balloons.
