In Hinduism it is believed that lord Vishnu incarnates in ten different forms to preserve the universe and restore peace and dharma in the four yugas (eras or cycles). The ten avatars of Lord Vishnu are known as Dashavatara. The ten avatars of lord Vishnu are Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha and Kalki.
