The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Tuesday extended the due date for filing Income Tax Returns for individuals for FY2018-19 from July 31 to August 31. Earlier, the deadline for employers to provide Form 16 to their employees was extended from June 15 to July 10. This extension had left only 21 days for employees to file returns.
