A 54-year-old man infected with coronavirus died at a hospital in Madurai on Wednesday, making it the first death recorded in Tamil Nadu due to the virus. This takes the COVID-19 death toll in India to 11. "He had a medical history of prolonged illness with steroid-dependent COPD, uncontrolled diabetes with hypertension," state Health Minister C Vijayabaskar said.
