The death toll due to the hooch tragedy in Tamil Nadu's Kallakurichi has risen to 49, with 10 more people losing their lives. About 120 people who consumed the liquor have been admitted to government hospitals, with 15 people reportedly remaining in critical condition. A mass cremation of many of the tragedy's victims was conducted at Karunapuram on Thursday evening.
