Debt-ridden businessman held after botched jewellery heist in Kurla

Maz Javed Sayyad, a 30-year-old leather businessman burdened with ₹15 lakh debt and heavy losses, attempted to rob Bhavani Jewellers in Kurla West in Mumbai, using a fake pistol. Staff raised an alarm, alerting a patrolling constable who overpowered and arrested Sayyad. An FIR is being registered and the fake pistol will be sent for forensic examination.
