Chinese researchers aboard a submersible, Fendouzhe, discovered the deepest-known colony of marine life nearly 10 kilometres deep in the Mariana Trench, a study published in Nature revealed. They shared a video showing fields of 30-cm-long tubeworms, along with piles of molluscs and clams. Fendouzhe can operate at depths exceeding 10 km for several hours.
