Delay in filing Income Tax audit report may invite ₹75,000 penalty

Finance Bill 2026 introduced a stringent fee policy for delays in submitting Income Tax audit reports. If taxpayers fail to get their accounts audited and don't furnish the audited report, they will have to pay ₹75,000 for a delay of up to a month, reported NDTV Profit. If the default continues beyond 30 days, the fee will double to ₹1,50,000.
