Hospitals in Delhi-NCR region saw a rise in respiratory and pregnancy-related complications following increased air pollution after Diwali. As per reports, doctors across the region said spike in patients was due to the combined effects of air and noise pollution caused by firecrackers, especially during late-night hours. Notably, Supreme Court had permitted use of green firecrackers on Diwali.
