The Supreme Court has said that Delhi cannot be given the status of a 'state' but Lieutenant Governor is bound by the aid and advice of the elected Delhi government. CJI Dipak Misra said that L-G cannot act independently unless where the Constitution allows. This comes after the AAP moved the court over Centre and Delhi government's power tussle matter.
