Delhi Police removed name tags to avoid social media targeting

Delhi Police personnel deployed at Jantar Mantar protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar deliberately removed name tags to avoid being identified on social media. The measure follows July 20 CJP protest violence, when officers and their families were targeted online. Senior IPS officers retained tags; junior personnel were allowed on ground without them.
