Supreme Court imposed a ₹5 lakh fine on Delhi government’s Public Works Department (PWD) for manual cleaning of a sewer outside the court in violation of its orders prohibiting the practice. Stating that "officials need to wake up from slumber to ensure directions are complied with," the court said it would direct registration of an FIR if this happens again.
