The Delhi government will raise income eligibility for ration cards from ₹1.2 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh per annum, CM Rekha Gupta announced on Thursday. "The government removed 1.44 lakh beneficiaries not fulfilling the income criterion...29,580 who died, while 23,394 ration cards were found to be duplicates," she added. She further said around 7.72 lakh "invalid" ration cards were cancelled.
