Delhi to move prisoners running gangs to other states: CM Rekha

Delhi government plans to shift undertrial prisoners who run extortion rings, organise murders and trigger gang wars to other states, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said. She added this would prevent them from influencing witnesses and disrupting trials. The government plans to adopt Transfer of Prisoners (Punjab Amendment) Act, 2025 as current laws only allow interstate transfer of convicted prisoners.
