American food delivery startup DoorDash states in its FAQ page that "for each delivery, drivers receive at least $1 from DoorDash plus 100% of the customer tip." If amount falls short of guaranteed amount, DoorDash compensates the difference, the FAQ page adds. This comes after US grocery delivery startup Instacart's CEO Apoorva Mehta apologised for paying its drivers using tips.
