A new strain of coronavirus that combines Delta and Omicron has been detected in Cyprus, as per Leondios Kostrikis, Biological Sciences Professor at the University of Cyprus. He said the strain has been named 'Deltacron' due to the identification of Omicron-like genetic signatures within the Delta genomes. So far, 25 cases of 'Deltacron' have reportedly been detected in Cyprus.
