The demolition of Hotel Malari Inn and Hotel Mount View in Uttarakhand's Joshimath began on Thursday. Both hotels have been deemed unsafe due to the Hotel Malari Inn having almost shifted off its foundation, which led to it tilting towards the Hotel Mount View. The demolition, which was originally scheduled on Tuesday, was halted due to protests by local residents.
