Denmark wins 1st Olympic swimming gold in 68 yrs

Denmark won its first Olympic swimming gold in 68 years, with Danish swimmer Pernille Blume’s victory in the women’s 50-metre freestyle event on Saturday. The medal was Denmark’s third in swimming, and the first for Blume, who clocked a timing of 24.07 seconds. The country had last won Olympic swimming golds at the 1948 London Olympic Games.
