The IMD has issued dense to very dense fog warning for several states for the next few days. It is very likely over Punjab for the next four days and over Haryana for the next three days. Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura could witness dense to very dense fog over the next two days.

Several luxury goods costing above ₹10 lakh to attract TCS; list released

The Income Tax Department has notified new rules under which certain luxury goods priced above ₹10 lakh will attract Tax Collected at Source (TCS). These items include wrist watches, art pieces, collectibles, yachts, sunglasses, handbags, shoes, sportswear and sports equipment, among others. TCS at 1% on the sale of specified luxury goods is applicable from April 22, 2025.

Sensex and Nifty ended in the green on Wednesday, with the former ending above 80,000 for the first time in over four months. While Sensex ended over 500 points higher, Nifty concluded the day's trade after rising nearly 0.7% to cross 24,300. HCLTech, Tech Mahindra, Tata Motors, Infosys and Mahindra and Mahindra were among the top gainers on Sensex.

Citing a central agency source, the report added that Adil was a local overground worker who recently returned from Pakistan. The deceased were from states/UTs including Maharashtra, West Bengal, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Chandigarh, Kerala, Gujarat, Karnataka, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh. A tourist from Nepal and a local from Pahalgam were also killed.
