Designer of iconic AK-47 rifle is no more

Lt. Gen. Mikhail Kalashnikov, the designer of the AK-47, died in his home city of Izhevsk on Monday at 94, Russian state news agency 'Itar Tass' reported. Remarkably, the assault rifle has killed more people than any other firearm in the world. Kalashnikov was in his 20s when he created the rifle, just after World War II.
