Deutsche Bank announces layoffs of 3,500 employees

Deutsche Bank plans to lay off 3,500 employees over the next two years, responding to a 16% drop in 2023 profits. Despite facing restructuring costs of €566 million, the bank aims to cut non-client-facing roles. Shareholders, however, anticipate a 50% dividend increase. The bank sets revenue targets for 2025 at €32 billion and aims to cap expenses at €20 billion.
