Developers entering bankruptcy double to 421 since IL&FS collapse

The number of Indian real estate companies entering bankruptcy has doubled since the collapse of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS). As many as 421 developers entered bankruptcy court by the end of June, up from 209 in September 2018. The collapse of IL&FS triggered a credit crunch for property firms, which depend on funds from non-bank finance companies.
