Chinese electric-car battery maker CATL's senior executive Meng Xiangfeng in a conference said the firm is developing a new type of EV battery that contains no nickel or cobalt. Xiangfeng did not give details about the makeup or the cost of the planned battery type. Earlier, the firm had said it's ready to produce a battery with a 16-year lifespan.
