A video showing thousands of devotees thronging Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundaraswarar Temple in Madurai on Wednesday on account of 11th day of the annual Chithirai festival has surfaced online. The 10th day of the festival marks the anniversary of the celestial wedding of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundaraswarar. Around 5,000 police personnel were deployed at the temple to manage the crowd.
