The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has reportedly issued new norms for duty timings of air traffic controllers, rejecting the Airports Authority of India's (AAI) proposal to provide relaxation for airports with fewer flights. The DGCA said an air traffic controller's shift cannot last longer than 12 hours and may only be given a duty assignment of 180 hours/month.
