The BCCI has recommended Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli to the Sports Ministry, for the Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri Awards, respectively. Under Dhoni’s captaincy India won two World Cups, ICC World Twenty20 in 2007 and ICC World Cup in 2011, and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. Dhoni was awarded the Padma Shri Award in 2009.
