Complainants against Amrapali Group, which's accused of diverting thousands of crores of homebuyers' money, have sought that Dhoni should also be made an accused. As per the FIR, Amrapali Group bosses "spun attractive dreams to lure customers and their money, making skilful use of Dhoni for this purpose." A complainant said, "He's part of criminal conspiracy hatched by the accused."
