Dhyan Chand leads India to third consecutive Olympic gold in 1936

On this day in 1936, the Indian men's Hockey team won its third consecutive gold medal at the Olympics. Led by Major Dhyan Chand, India defeated Germany 7-1 in the final to defend their gold medal for the second time in a row. The Indian captain led from the front by scoring four goals in their own backyard in Berlin.
